Allegheny Valley Baseball is committed to winning and to achieving the ultimate level of baseball excellence.

Allegheny Valley Baseball is the realization of a lifelong dream of its GM and Head Coach, Kevin P. Giza. Several years ago, while playing for Point Park University, Giza had a vision of launching a local semi-pro team where a player’s skills, drive, and determination to be the best would earn him a spot on the roster.

Giza turned to the Greater Pittsburgh Semi-Pro Federation League, and Allegheny Valley had its first season in 2003. Embittered by the experiences of fellow players who couldn’t break into teams because of returning roster players, Giza vowed to build his teams through wide open tryouts – offering players from the best colleges and local teams the chance to compete each season for their positions.

This organization will always portray a professional appearance both on and off the field. We will strive to become the model of optimum success. Allegheny Valley will rise above all others in professionalism, resources, knowledge, technology and work habits.

By exhibiting these ideals, Allegheny Valley Baseball will become the premier baseball organization in the Greater Pittsburgh Federation League and in all of Western Pennsylvania.

Our Vision:

WE ARE TRUE TO THE GAME

Our philosophy is to let the best player play. Everyone will always have a chance to make this team every year. A good baseball player should get a fair shot to play no matter what their background. The constant strain of baseball-related politics corrupts and ruins the game. The heart of this organization is its players, coaches and fans.

Our purpose is to provide players an institution to help them to grow and excel through a chance they wouldn’t normally have. Everyone will be evaluated on the same scale and will be treated equally.

The game of baseball in all its forms is pure. No one player is bigger than the team or the code in which the teams stand. We have an absolute zero tolerance for any unacceptable behavior or unfair play. Our number one objective is to keep it that way!

WE PLAY HARD

We will provide a great level of competition for everyone to enjoy. Players have to be willing to play with passion and all-out effort. The player’s number one objective is to work hard to make the team the best it can be. Our players are willing and committed to sacrifice for the greater benefit of the team.

WE ARE DEDICATED

This team was designed for serious ballplayers who want to take their game to a higher level. We will not be second to anyone in fundamentals, hard work, enthusiasm or discipline. This team will be well trained and conditioned. Through practice, extra training facilities, equipment and extensive promotional marketing, the Allegheny Valley Baseball team members will have all the tools to be the best they can be.

WE PROMOTE OURSELVES

We will build an organization that creates, promotes and produces the best baseball players around. We strive to provide optimum value to our players by promoting them in the right channels to play baseball at a higher level. We will develop a reputation for having a very professional program consisting of hard working, disciplined and talented players.

Major League, Frontier League, and College Scouts will always assume top priority in anything we do. Whenever possible, scouts will be contacted and be present at events. In the team’s best interest, our website and PR will be designed to be “Scout-friendly” and have all the important attributes that Professional Scouts seek.

WE GIVE BACK

For our fans and our community, we will provide our National Pastime in a very pure and professional manner. We will create a gathering place that has great ballpark atmosphere and is full of excitement. The children of our community will see this team as something they strive to join in the future. We will support charitable associations and help to make a difference. We will provide fun-filled events and the highest quality of baseball for all.
